Emily Glover

Emily Glover, violin, joined the North Carolina Symphony in September 2015, and for the past three seasons, was Acting Assistant Concertmaster. In recent seasons she has played regularly with the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Indianapolis Symphony Orchestra, and Colorado Music Festival. She spends her summers with the Central City Opera orchestra in Central City, Colorado.

In addition, she was Concertmaster of the Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra from 2013 to 2016, and held principal positions including with the Castleton Festival Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, and Brevard Symphony Orchestra. She has appeared as soloist with the North Carolina Symphony, Indianapolis Chamber Orchestra, Lynchburg Symphony Orchestra, National Repertory Orchestra, and Furman Symphony Orchestra.

As a chamber musician, Glover has been first violinist with the Lockerbie String Quartet and was a guest performer with the Muir Quartet in Boston. She has recently performed on the NCS Soundbites series, been a guest artist for the Talking Music series at UNC-Chapel Hill, collaborated with pianist William Wolfram, and helps curate a chamber music series with the Governor's Club in Chapel Hill. A native of Lynchburg, Virginia, Glover holds degrees from Furman University and Boston University, where her teachers have included Peter Zazofsky and Thomas Joiner. She lives in Cary with her husband, David, and daughter, Maia.

Erin Zehngut

Erin Zehngut joined the first violin section of the North Carolina Symphony in 2016. Before moving to North Carolina, she was a fellow at the New World Symphony under Music Director Michael Tilson Thomas. During her fellowship, she appeared as Concertmaster and Principal Second Violin, performed in a variety of chamber music projects, and was active in the symphony’s Community Engagement programs. On several occasions, she traveled to Colombia to perform and teach at the Academia Filarmónica de Medellín. She has also played regularly with the Cleveland Orchestra, and has performed and toured internationally with the Minnesota Orchestra.

In addition to her orchestral pursuits, Erin is an active chamber musician and teacher in the triangle area. She performs as a member of the Aurora Musicalis String Quartet and maintains a small private teaching studio. She has spent several summers serving on faculty at the Eastern Music Festival in Greensboro, North Carolina. Outside of the NC area, she has performed during the summers with the Mainly Mozart All-Star Orchestra, Lakes Area Music Festival, and the Lake Placid Sinfonietta.

Erin holds a bachelor’s degree in Violin Performance from the University of Michigan, where she studied with Aaron Berofsky, and a master’s degree from the Cleveland Institute of Music, where she studied with Stephen Rose.

Amy Mason

Amy Mason has been a violist in the NC Symphony since 2012. A native of Dearborn, Michigan, she received her bachelor’s degree in music from the University of Michigan, and her master’s degree from Rice University’s Shepherd School of Music where she studied with James Dunham.

Before joining the NC Symphony, she performed with ensembles including the Louisiana Philharmonic, the Dearborn Symphony and the New World Symphony. She has spent summers at the Peninsula Music Festival, Tanglewood Music Center, Aspen Music Festival and the New York String Orchestral Seminar. Mason is a member of the Oak City String Quartet and the Aurora Musicalis String Quartet, has taught at University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and has a private studio.

She lives in Raleigh with her husband and their two children, two cats and one dog.

Elizabeth Beilman

Elizabeth Beilman, cello, is a native of Wichita, Kansas joined the North Carolina Symphony in 1988 and serves as the orchestra’s Associate Principal Cello. Since coming to Raleigh, she has performed in numerous recitals and ensembles in N.C. and has appeared as soloist with the North Carolina Symphony. She is a founding member of the chamber music ensemble AURORA MUSICALIS. The Pulitzer-prize winning composer, Robert Ward composed “ECHOES OF AMERICA” for her chamber music ensemble.

Before her arrival in N.C., Ms. Beilman was Artist-in Residence for two years at the Banff Centre for the Fine Arts in Alberta, Canada. During that time, she toured throughout Canada. She was a featured artist with the Breckenridge Music Festival. Ms. Beilman holds both Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Music Performance from the Indiana University School of Music. While at I.U., she held a faculty position of Associate Instructor and served as Assistant to Fritz Magg. Dedicated to music education, she Co-Founder and Executive Director of North Carolina Chamber Music Institute (NCCMI).

She maintains a thriving private cello studio and her students are now outstanding professional musicians throughout the world. She performs on a 1928 Giulio Degani cello.
